CORNING LEGION BASEBALL
The purpose of our program is two-fold.
(1) The Corning American Legion Baseball Programaligns with the mission of American Legion Baseball to promote community involvement, civic resposibility, sportsmanship, team loyalty, and individual accountability.
(2) Most of our players want to go onto college. Some of these young men need financial aid to obtain a college degree. Our program gives them the opportunity to be seen by college coaches. Many of our players have been given scholarships, financial aid and on campus jobs to full fill their dreams of a college education.
Last summer, the Corning Gray Legion Baseball Team, went on to win the Randy Naylor Wooden Bat Legion Tournament. We finished 4th in the Green Wave Tournament in Oneonta, NY. We also finished the regular season in 1st place, earning the #1 Seed in the District 7 Tournament. We won the District 7 American Lgion Tournament (winning all 4 games against the Rochester Teams). The Corning Grays went on to finish 5th in New York State at the 2014 New York State American Legion Baseball Tournament in Utica, NY.
We are looing forward to an exciting season!! With many returners from last years championship team and adding a few need faces, the team should be able to compete for the District and State Titles again!
Thanks to the FANS for your continuous support!
