LET'S TALK!

What can I do to get discovered?

When it comes to getting discovered there are many issues to take into consideration.  Lets face it, getting discovered can become very expensive.  Having played Division II Baseball and understanding that the days of sending video tapes to college coaches are a thing of the past, my advice to you would be get involved in a recruiting program (Baseball Factory, Perfect Game) or college exposure days.  These avenues will get you in front of college coaches and give you opportunities to display you skills.  Also, being involved in a recruitment process allows the player to have a personal website, professional evaluation, where coaches can easily access your profile.  Players also should be competing at a high level in travel tournaments to consistently challenge themselves.

Should I have a nutrition plan?

Yes.  When it comes to nutrition many athletes focus too much on the next greatest pill or powder and not on the power of food. Training hard on a consistent level requires athletes to emphasize nutrition on a daily basis. Performance nutrition can be the difference for being average to awesome! A true edge can be given to the athlete that chooses to eat healthy and performance will show on the field.

What should my workout plan look like?

A solid workout plan will have a balance of strength training, speed training, agility training, conditioning, core work, nutrition, and sports drills.  Anyone who has ever played baseball can tell you how important a strong core is in performing basic baseball movements such as swinging and throwing. A strong core is critical to performing optimally and staying healthy.  Strength training will help the athlete build strength, size, and power.  Speed, agility, and conditioning are three very important components of a sport that need to be trained.  Eating healthy will allow the athlete to endure a full season of sports activity at a high level.  Lastly, practicing sports specific drills while you train will help you with see new results for all the hard work your putting in training.
